Songbirds Inter-school Group Singing Competition

The ‘Songbirds Inter-school Group Singing Competition’ was conducted by the Indian Music Experience Museum, J.P. Nagar. For the preliminary round, all groups of singers had to choose to sing one song from an album of children’s songs based on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. The songs were selected from the album by Lonnie Park and The Earth Band named ‘My Earth Songs.’
Mr. Ricky Kej, a member of The Earth Band, and a two-time Grammy award winner and Dr. Suma Sudhindra an eminent musician of Karnataka judged the final round. The team from “Daffodils English School” was declared winners and received the prize from Mr. Rickey Kej himself.
It was a matter of pride for the team from Daffodils English School when Mr.Ricky Kej recorded their performance and requested for a second song ‘Prevention’ from the album.
The entire process was an excellent learning opportunity for all the finalists.
