Basic managerial practices vary from school to school. Each member of the Governing Council of Daffodils English School has the necessary expertise and experience to collectively formulate strategies to attain the school vision, to enhance teaching and learning effectiveness and to set education goals in tune with the National Education Policy of our country.

Daffodils English School was founded by my father, Late Sri P.K. Bheemaiah, with a passion and a mission called “Education for all”. Today, with pride and dedication, I carry his vision forward.
We encourage our students to carry their learning experiences beyond the walls of the classroom. This helps them develop into strong individuals both mentally and physically, which is the hallmark of effective schooling.
Our endeavor is to deliver quality and meaningful education. Toward this end, we -
- recruit, develop and retain qualified and committed staff – who provide brilliant and succinct rays of light to enable the students dispel the darkness of ignorance and illuminate the paths they trod in their quest for knowledge.
- invest in futuristic and student friendly learning infrastructure and environment – an infrastructure that does not compromise with the safety requirements of the students and an environment that includes adequate sanitary facilities for both boys and girls.
- provide avenues and opportunities to students to explore, identify and imbibe interests and activities that aid their overall development. These have helped Daffodils to carve a niche for itself and to emerge as one of the leading schools in Bangalore
- believe that a holistic learning environment will address a student’s intellectual, physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
Mr. Chengappa N.T. B.Sc., D.SSA., D.L., our Vice-President specializes in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations.
He started his career as Labour Officer in a private organization in Mysore. He has served in various managerial positions, in large Public Sector Companies like Indian Telephone Industries and Bharath Electronics Ltd involving policy planning in H.R., developing the team members' inherent talents and skills and motivating them to realise their true potential, leadership qualities necessary for them to take up the mantle of leading the teams assigned to them.
He retired as Additional General Manager, Personnel and Industrial relations, from Bharath Electronics Ltd.,a Defence Navaratna Company. He had the privilege of managing educational and other welfare oriented institutions while in service. In 2008 he took over the mantle of Secretary of Daffodils English School, from Late Sri. P.K. Bheemaiah. His dream is to see Daffodils ranked among the best institutions in the country. Mr. Chengappa believes that the overall development of a child, apart from academic goals, is top priority, and that it is important to set realistic and achievable targets for the betterment and personal growth of oneself.
He believes that it is in the school, that a student learns the process of self-discipline and self-management, a logical and systemic approach to the assigned work and leadership skills and develops a high level of honesty and integrity. He also believes that acquisition of knowledge and life skills is one continuous and lifelong learning process.
Mrs Madhuri Chengappa B.Com., our secretary is the second daughter of the founder of Daffodils English School, Late Mr PK Bheemaiah.
A graduate from Mount Carmel College, she is an avid sports person with a passion for extracurricular activities including athletics, NCC and the Girl Guides. She has won several laurels in athletics and has attended 21 NCC camps. As an NCC cadet, she represented Karnataka in the Republic Day Parade in 1972 where she was adjudged the “Best Senior Under Officer” and won the Prime Minister’s Banner which was presented to her by late Mrs Indira Gandhi. For three consecutive years she was declared the best shot of Karnataka in the shooting competitions organized by NCC.
In Girl Guides she won the Governor’s Gold medal in First Aid. She completed an advanced mountaineering course at Uttar Kashi in UP and scaled Mount Bunderpoonch (17000 ft) and Mount Kedamath (24000 ft). Out of 25 climbers, she, with one more climber from Manipal, scaled Mount Kedarnath to hoist our National Flag on the peak.
She has served in various managerial positions and has retired as Deputy General Manager of the Apex Bank, where she was awarded the ‘Best Branch Manager’ of the Apex Bank network of branches. It is in NCC that she was able to develop qualities of character, courage, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and sportsmanship and the ideals of selfless service. She acquired the grit and determination of a mountaineer and with the motto “Be Prepared”, as a girl guide she had developed skills to cope with any obstacle that beset her path.
These qualities and her corporate skills were revealed when she guided Daffodils English School through the path chosen by its Founders. She has spared no efforts to ensure that the school got the best, and that the vision of Daffodils was not compromised. It is under her guidance that Daffodils English School is ranked high amongst the schools in Bangalore, North District. Her leadership in Daffodils English School has been a source of inspiration to all the students, parents and staff of the school.
Mr. Chinnappa, an alumni of St. Joseph's Boys High School, Bangalore, has completed his under graduation in Commerce from Bhagwaan Mahaveer Jain College, Bangalore. He has a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Management from the University of Nottingham, U.K., and also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management. He is the grandson of our Founding Father – late Mr. P.K. Bheemaiah.
Before his foray into Daffodils in 2006, he was one of the youngest Sales Managers at ING Vysya Life Insurance Pvt. Ltd. He has also worked as an Operations Manager at ILS Logistics Pvt. Ltd., Chennai. He is an avid traveller and is passionate about Formula One, photography and football. Mr. Chinnappa's vision for Daffodils is to provide holistic education to children. He and his team have designed a curriculum with emphasis on academic excellence, sports, social values, creative and performing arts, and community service. He believes this would empower every child to follow his or her dream and carve a niche for oneself in this ever changing and competitive world.
Under his able guidance, Daffodils English School has grown in stature as an institution and hosts its own inter-school sports and literary competitions. Regular inter-house competitions in quiz, dramatics, debate and more build the competitive spirit in children while developing their communication and interpersonal skills. In keeping with his grandfather’s vision of giving back to the community and making children aware of their civic duties, students are made to participate in various community programmes like Women's Welfare Development, raising funds for the underprivileged, waste management and infrastructure development. His aim is to see Daffodils as a school where there is happiness, safety, camaraderie, trust and care.
His vision is rooted in the belief that when there is proper co-ordination, clear and untangled lines of communications and a commitment to the success of the tasks entrusted among the various stake holders of the school – students, parents, teachers and the Management – there is no gainsaying the fact the vision of the school will be achieved to the satisfaction of each and every stakeholder. For as Peter Senge stated
“The practice of shared vision involves the skills of unearthing shared 'pictures of the future' that foster genuine commitment and enrolment rather than compliance."
He has gone all out to provide the teachers and students the tools, time and trust required to succeed in their endeavours to achieve their teaching and learning objectives. In order to enhance the learning experience of the students, he has introduced the Apple in Education Program where teachers use ipads to present the curriculum in customized manner to the students.
When our country has committed itself to develop into a knowledge based society, his painstaking endeavours are directed towards making Daffodils a learning community He attests the words of the world leader, Nelson Mandela : “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
